Capsule 2011

Taking place right now in New York City is the Capsule Tradeshow, showcasing over one hundred of the world’s most sought after, upcoming brands. The menswear edition trade of the show has been in effect since this past Monday and wrapped up yesterday. Lucky for us, we got to pay a visit to the 100+ street style brands exhibiting their new collections on opening day, and it was quite an impressive array of clothing lines.

Although most of the lines didn’t consist of a single t-shirt, we happened across a handful of cool t-shirt designers, both familiar and new to us. One of my favorites was Tailgate Clothing, whose nostalgic t-shirts “re-create a forgotten era of timeless collegiate sportswear and vintage styles with updated fits and washes.” I’d say about 90% of the t-shirts at the show were at their booth. A few other notable brands with new t-shirts on the way are streetwear big timers KR3W and Staple Design. If you’re in New York, you can catch the womens apparel edition of Capsule from now until January 21. More info at
