We interview Andrew Wang, CEO of streetwear brand LuxLivin.

TM: So, tell me, what’s the LuxLivin brand all about?

AW: In short, we’re a hip hop music and streetwear fashion movement.. with a core goal to empower and inspire our target audiences. This includes the young entrepreneurs, business minded; those who put in work to make things happen & better days to come.

TM: How long have you been in the t-shirt biz? And what have you learned?

AW: I only launched my line a year ago, but I’ve managed to push it at an incredible pace with more progress made to date than ever expected. I’m VERY thankful for everyone that contributed & gave me the nudge to go harder. There’s a wealth of information I’ve picked up… from branding your image, marketing online, design enhancements, building the right contacts, logistic basics & more.. that’s the beauty of the game.. learning more as you go.

TM: Which of your shirts is your absolute favorite?

AW: I love them all. You can’t really favor one design over another you know? lol ok, if I was to choose one, I’d go for the ‘STRKLY BIZNEZ SAVVY‘ Tee.. it’s simple, conveys it’s message effectively, and it’s one of our top sellers ever since the launch.

TM: Do your run your label alone or do you have a team?

AW: I run my own label, but have a team to back me up with.. you just can’t do everything alone.. that’s selfish =) l

TM: I see you sell real jewelry in your shop as well, something that most street wear shops don’t have for sale. What’s the idea behind that?

AW: Jewelry was always my fascination since childhood.. everything I do now was the result of what I’ve dreamt for. Again, I’m grateful to see it all unfold. This also helped with our brand leverage and class distinction in the streetwear game.

TM: What does your customer demographic look like overall?

AW: We cover both genders.. mostly aged from 16 – 35. Our 3 biggest markets are U.S, Europe, Asia. That’s more than enough for now.

TM: What’s in the works for the future of your label?

AW: We plan on releasing trucker hats next year.. along with our men’s bag collection. Within the next 5 years, I’ll be establishing my own LUXLIVIN Cafe, LUXLIVIN Nightclub.. LUXLIVIN Modeling Agency =) Yes, I got big dreams.

TM: What tips could you give to others trying to get into the t-shirt biz?

AW: Be commited everyday, don’t procrastinate. Procrastination is the theif of fortune. Keep on striving for more, for a higher knowledge standing. Never get comfortable and slow down. There’s always someone hungrier than you that’ll come replace your position if you get caught slacking.

In short, keep on developing your strengths and keep on learning. Be persistent, persevere, and you will prosper.
