T-Shirt Reviews: Brand New Clothing

February 26, 2009

Brand New Clothing is an “esoteric luxury brand” based in South Burlington, Vermont. Since its founding in 2004, the brand has been synonymous with quality and excellence. Scotty Taylor, founder of the company, sent us these two cool t-shirts for us to review. Check ’em out.

President Obama’s image has been used over and over again on t-shirts everywhere. Before he became president, it was the “in” thing to rock an Obama t-shirt, to show that you’re “down for change”. Now, with a thousand Obama t-shirt designs out there, the “high” that came from the campaign has worn off, and people are getting tired of the Obama tees. I kind of got tired of them, too, but then again…I’m wearing this t-shirt as I write this review, so I guess I’m not tired of them. This shirt is a great ice breaker for anybody who likes Obama. It’s cool to see the prez in his youthful years.

I see a lot of these in my hometown (sneakers hanging on a wire). I’m not sure what that even means. I heard from one person that it means that those are the sneakers of someone who died in that spot. Then I heard from someone else that those sneakers are from someone who used to live on that block, but moved out to a new address. I like the design of the shirt, but I’m not a fan of the color combos of the tees in this design. It would have been cooler if they had a red/blue/black combo, or white/blue/red combo.
