We all know that everyone loves Disney movies, or loved them at some point in their life. Disney movies are what taught us the lessons of life and made us believe that one day our dreams will come true. Yeah, yeah, yeah, these Disney movies may seem cheesy and predictable, but they are memorable and will stay within our hearts forever.

Check out our picks for the best Disney animated cartoon movies of all time.

5) Beauty and the Beast

This movie brings back so many memories! Back in the day, I used to have one of those talking book thingies of Beauty and the Beast. I even had the French version of the movie on VHS and used to watch it (even though I barely understood what they were saying). Oh yeah, and the Burger King toys, too. The Beast was like Belle’s sugar daddy (minus the part where he’s supposed to get something in return). But as the end, when Belle finds out that the Beast is dead, in some strange magical way, her tears bring him back to life and “they live happily ever after”.

4) Cinderella

Isn’t every other movie based somewhat on Cinderella? You know, the whole rags-to-riches story where the main character wished for a better future and eventually got it. As a matter of fact, many success stories are Cinderella stories. Now I’m all for the the Cinderella story and the under dog coming on top against all odds, but I was not happy when the New York Giants beat the formerly undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII by 3 points. Now, I love New York, and represent New York and everything, but I was rooting for the Patriots in that game and–Anyway, Cinderella is definitely a wonderful classic movie that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

3) Aladdin

Aladdin. Who could forget Iago and his annoying voice? Or Genie and his goofy ways? Or Jafar and his plot to kill Aladdin and marry Jasmine? I remember the song ‘A Whole New World’ being stuck in my head for months after watching the movie on VHS. The Aladdin video game was also a classic. (For all you former NES gamers, relive the memories by playing the Aladdin Game online).

2) Hercules

Hercules was one of the coolest movies I’ve ever seen in my childhood. Zeus, Hades, Pegasus; all of those cool Greek Mythological characters were in it. Every 7 year old boy had to love this movie when it came out. What kid doesn’t want to see a a muscular guy with armor and a sword run around chopping off the heads of viscous monsters and winning the girl at the end? And the action figures let you relive the movie any time you wanted to.

1) The Lion King

This movie must be one of the greatest movies of all time. For those of you who didn’t know, the story of The Lion King was inspired by Shakespeare’s play, Hamlet. Lion King was about….do I really have to explain what Lion King was about? Everybody watched it. And if you didn’t watch it, you were either living under a rock or were born after 1995 (which still isn’t an excuse). You gotta love the opening of the movie, with ‘Circle of Life’ playing in the background, and all of the animals of the jungle coming together for the ceremony of newborn Simba. And you can’t forget the part when Scar pushed Mufasa off of the cliff (the part where everyone cried). Oh yeah, and then at the end, it was cool to see Simba push Scar off of a cliff during their final duel, and have the hyenas turn on Scar and kill him. Ahh…Lion King is the best.
