T-Shirt Magazine’s list of the top five clothing labels started by celebrities. In no particular order, these are some of the top dogs of the game much thanks to the celebrities who promote them. If you haven’t heard of any of these, get familiar!
Rocawear was created by hip hop icon Jay Z in 1999. By 2008 Rocawear has annual sales of $1 billion and is, hands down, one of the biggest hip hop clothing labels in the world. Rocawear has been worn and promoted by countless celebrities, recently Lauren London and Cassie, and is one of the pioneer streetwear clothing lines.
In March of 2007, Jay-Z sold the rights to the Rocawear brand to Iconix Brand Group, for $204 million. Jay-Z will retain his stake in the company and will continue to oversee the marketing, licensing and product development.

Sean John is another leading line founded by P. Diddy in 1998. Sean John has been worn by Combs himself, and celebs like T.I., Fabolous, The Game, Daddy Yankee , basketball stars including Dwyane Wade and Tristan Sooklal, plus models Tyson Beckford and Kevin Navayne.
Cassie and Lauren London are spokesmodels for the Sean John women’s collection, which launched in July 2007. In 2006, Sean John also went on to expand into other products, launching its first fragrance, a men’s scent called Unforgivable.

Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream are two lines established by Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes and Nigo, founder of Bathing Ape. The items are produced in very limited quantities and are manufactured in Japan.
In 2005, Pharrell Williams, one half of The Neptunes partnered with Japanese fashion icon Nigo, the founder of Bathing Ape. The two collaborated together to create and launch two new luxury streetwear brands: Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream.

Famous Stars and Straps was created by Travis Barker of Blink-182. Famous Stars And Straps clothing is influenced by music genres such as punk rock and hip-hop. The brand’s “F” logo which is referred to as the ‘Badge of Honor’ is used to represent the line. The logo is often used on tees in words such as ‘Family’, ‘Famous’ or ‘Forever’.

DCMA Collective is an American clothing company owned by Joel and Benji Madden, from the band Good Charlotte, their older brother Josh Madden, and their friend Tal Cooperma. DCMA Collective originally offered only t-shirts, but they have expanded their product line to include hoodies, belt buckles,baseball caps, womens t-shirts and hoodies, baby clothes, and shoes.
They are now working on shoes named “K-DCMA” being released in mid 2008. Many celebrity friends of the Madden have worn DCMA Collective clothing to raise awareness of the company, includingLostprophets, Three 6 Mafia, Escape the Fate, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Avenged Sevenfold.
